Hi all,

I’ve been troubleshooting my PC’s random restarts for the past few days and have exhausted a lot of options, but I’m still encountering the issue. I wanted to provide a summary of everything I’ve tried so far and see if anyone might have any insights or ideas I might have missed.

My Build:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9700x

• GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3070

• Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming WiFi

• RAM: Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000MHz

• Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 1TB NVMe SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD

• PSU: Corsair RM850x

• Cooling: Cooler Master Liquid Atmos 360 AIO

• Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow

• Monitor: LG UltraGear 27GS85Q-B.AEK 27” Nano IPS Gaming Monitor

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

1. Hardware Checks:

• Replaced the motherboard (ASUS ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming WiFi).

• Swapped the PSU to a Corsair RM850x to rule out power supply issues.

• Ran MemTest for 8 passes with 0 errors (RAM is not faulty).

• Removed the GPU and tested the system without it; restarts still occurred.

• Ran stress tests (Prime95 and FurMark) for over 10 minutes each. No instability or restarts occurred during these tests.

2. Software / OS:

• Fresh Windows installation to rule out any OS-level issues.

• Checked Event Viewer logs, no critical errors or patterns. Besides error 41

• Reinstalled all drivers, including chipset and GPU drivers.

• Checked BIOS settings and reset to default settings. Verified that there were no overclock settings applied.

3. Voltages /

• VTT voltage is reading 3.328V (unsure if this is within spec).

• Vcore is stable around 1.296V.

• No WHEA errors detected in Event Viewer.

• No thermal issues: CPU temperatures during stress tests were below 90°C, and GPU temps were around 67°C.

4. Other Considerations:

• Tried different RAM configurations (single channel and dual channel) with no change in restarts.

• Disabled Secure Boot in BIOS, but still experiencing the issue.

• Checked all cables and connectors, everything seems properly seated.

What’s Happening:

The PC restarts randomly—sometimes during light usage, sometimes under load. I’ve noticed no consistent pattern as to when it happens, though it seems more frequent when I’m doing something like gaming.

Next Steps / What I’m Considering:

• Could the CPU be at fault? Could there be an issue with the IMC or VRM causing these random restarts?

• Is there a potential conflict between drivers or software I might have missed?

• Could the VTT voltage reading (3.328V) be a red flag indicating something is wrong?

I’d appreciate any insight or suggestions on what I should check next. Thanks for your help!

Edit to add: Having seen the same thread abandoned over on TSG and an ongoing thread on Sysnative to avoid cross posting and potential mishaps/misunderstandings this thread will be closed, it can be reopened but only if the OP is not still following guidance elsewhere.

Great info in your OP but a couple of things for you to do Suf K,

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.
