In the past year i’ve gotten both a gaming laptop and a pc that came with windows 11. In both of these devices, there are times when i watch a video on youtube and it randomly stops playing and shows a loading symbol that never disappears even when restarting however it fixes itself whenever i unplug my headphones which is a bit annoying. Another issue that only happens to my pc was that it would just randomly freeze, it would pause any yt videos or games im in but the clock at the bottom right would always update itself. The only way to fix this was to just hold the power button on my pc which im afraid may one day corrupt my pc files. I had never experienced any of these issues in the entirety of the 3 years i had my old pc that had windows 10, would appreciate some help to fix it as im not too knowledgable about computers so im unsure where to start, thanks for reading.

Sorry but you have post on a tech forum asking for help but have provided zero information about your computer or it`s hardware, this makes it impossible for anyone to even hazard a guess as to what is going on.

Is the computer a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better help you.

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Operating System
Windows 11 Home 64-bit
Computer type: Virtual
Installation Date: 14/06/2023 18:08:23

Speccy tells us that not one driver has been installed since Windows was.

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 60BC2CAB
Size: 476 GB
Used Space: 414 GB (87%)
Free Space: 61 GB (13%)

You are running out of free storage space, see my canned info below;

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available on a HDD and an SSD between 10 and 15% as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

There is not enough room on the C: partition to be able to install the system drivers or Windows Quality Updates.

Speccy also tells us that the computer is a HP desktop, can you tell us the exact model name or number.

I also just updated the drivers and the issue of yt freezing has been fixed but my pc has still been crashing.

Software such as Windows can crash and when it does crash you get a BSOD and when enabled a crash dmp is generated, programs or games when they crash can on occasion close to the desktop but the computer will still be 100% functional.

Hardware failure such as a weak power supply and/or overheating are not software related and when a computer for example suddenly turns off, freezes or the screen goes black etc the behaviour should be described as the "computer shut down unexpectedly" or froze etc and not as having crashed as the latter implies a software issue as opposed to an obvious hardware issue when described properly.

Having the correct info means that helpers will not be looking for a software issue when the problem is clearly hardware related.

Thank you for your assistance, i have already cleared up room on my SSD.
Speccy tells us that not one driver has been installed since Windows was.
Sorry for my lack of understanding but what should I do for this?

Speccy also tells us that the computer is a HP desktop, can you tell us the exact model name or number.
The exact model of my pc is the HP ENVY Desktop TE02-0xxx.

Please let me know if there is any extra information you require.

Nothing really that you can do about the drivers now that the computer has been used and multiple Windows updates allowed to install, I missed it previously but just spotted a driver that did get installed about a week after Windows 11 was.

Your best option would be to do a Windows reset, choose the keep nothing option and then do as explained in my canned info below, I suggest that before you do this that you download and save to a USB thumbdrive the HP drivers that you will need, you want the 22H2 version of drivers from here

Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer ** or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

** For OEM computers/notebooks such as Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo etc you must only download drivers from their support page, OEMs may sometimes redirect users to a third party site such as AMD or Nvidea to obtain the latest drivers for their GPUs, this tends to be for high end gaming notebooks and desktops though.

You are welcome btw :)

Not heard back from you, do you still require assistance or is the issue now resolved, an update would be appreciated.
