Please move this post if it belongs somewhere else, not really sure if this is a hardware or software issue I'm dealing with or maybe an OS problem.

This issue has appeared out of the blue and I am not sure what is causing it, sometimes when my PC goes to sleep by itself it will not fully go to sleep if that makes any sense, all my fans continue to run, lights are on, all USB devices have power but my monitors have shut off. Typing, clicking or moving the mouse does not turn the monitors back on and I will have to use the power button to restart the PC.
The last few times this has happened the monitors did not get any signal when rebooting and none of my usb devices seemed to have power, I had to power down, then shut of my PSU before everything would boot and work properly.

Im on windows 11 pro
Intel i5 13600 k
z790 aorus elite ax
32GB RAM
AMD Radeon 6950

Keyboard and mouse are both hardwired USB, monitors are connected with display port cables.

Thanks.

While Mal is away see my canned info below;

1 Drive c: () (Fixed) (Total:930.71 GB) (Free:38.29 GB) NTFS

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

Uninstall as many unused programs, games, videos and music files as you can asap.

Windows will also boot up quicker on its own partition as it does not need to install drivers for any third party programs.

See this guide on how to free up space

Open PowerShell as admin:

Copy the content of the code box below:
Code:
 iwr -useb https://christitus.com/win | iex

Paste into the open powershell window.
Hit enter:
Then under tweaks-- Select standard.
1732411601057.webp

Then under Advanced:
1732411623763.webp

Select these if you do not use one drive ETC.
Then click run tweaks.
1732410742178.webp

Then under updates:
1732411665495.webp

After this reboot the machine.
Let me know how things are.

Remove Edge if you do not use it with Geek Uninstaller.

O&O Shutup Ten
Move it to your documents folder.
Right click run as admin.
Go to actions, apply all settings.
Create the restore point when prompted.
Follow thru the prompts, and reboot if needed to apply the settings.

Create and run batch file.

Open a notepad and copy the entire content of the code box below.
Do not copy the word code!
Paste the txt into the notepad. Save the file to your desktop as DisableSmartScreen.bat
Now you will right click the on DisableSmartScreen.bat and run as administrator.

Code:
taskkill /F /IM "C:\Windows\System32\smartscreen.exe"
icacls "C:\Windows\System32\smartscreen.exe" /grant Everyone:F
rename "C:\Windows\System32\smartscreen.exe" "smartscreen.bak"

Being that the OP revisited the forum more than once but chose not to acknowledge either reply this thread will be closed.

I have done everything mentioned in the latest reply, and everything seemed good for the first few days from what I saw. Again hadn't been using my PC much. I have noticed that after doing everything there are several new issues.

First is my wifi, the connection is extremely poor compared to what it was before, and it forgets the network as well as disconnects alot.

Secondly I have no audio and I have tried everything. I generally use wavelink to control all my audio and even closing this and changing audio outputs etc has produced no audio.

And the PC is having the same sleep issues about 75% of the time that I have been able to use it.

Thanks.

Did you free up space as suggested??

First is my wifi, the connection is extremely poor compared to what it was before, and it forgets the network as well as disconnects alot.

The tool disabled IPV6. You can revert that by running the following batch:

Here it is so you see what it does.

Code:
@echo off
echo This script will reset various network settings and restart your computer.
echo Please save all your work before proceeding.
pause

:: Reset hosts file
echo Resetting hosts file...
pushd %windir%\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd

:: Release and renew IP
echo Releasing and renewing IP...

:: Schedule a system restart
echo Scheduling system restart...
shutdown -r -t 60 -c "Your computer will restart in 60 seconds to complete network reset."

echo Network reset complete. Your computer will restart in 60 seconds.
echo Press any key to restart immediately, or close this window to cancel the restart.
pause > nul
shutdown -a
shutdown -r -t 0

Unzip this batch file to your desktop, right click and run as admin.

Secondly I have no audio and I have tried everything. I generally use wavelink to control all my audio and even closing this and changing audio outputs etc has produced no audio.

I am unsure how this issue came about, nothing audio related was included in my instruction.

If you notice in the instructions a restore point was created, you can simply revert back to that point prior to running.

Somewhat contradictory, you say things were fine but then say that there are several new issues.

Couple of things come to mind, if it weren't for these new issues would you have come back to update us or just left the thread abandoned and being that the computer was running fine and these latest issues are new there is nothing to say that these latest issues are related to the first so a new thread should have been started and including what exactly these new issues are.
