Hi and welcome to everyone on the forum!
I´m having trouble setting up a PC for my wife. Here´s my problem:

I put together a PC with spare parts that I collected over time as we are both studying and don´t have alot of money right now.
I´m technically inclined I´d say and this is not the first time I have built a PC. After I set everything up, the PC worked just fine. I installed drivers, Windows updates, and subsequently restarted the PC a few times during the setup. The next day, I did not get any video output when starting the PC.
So I started trouble shooting:
First of all, there is no beeps at all when starting the PC, but the RAM and CPU leds light up and go out again, indicating that they are OK I guess. After that, the system is just idle with the fans spinning, so the system is getting power.
Since then I tried out booting with single RAM sticks to make sure they are not faulty, tried out different RAM slots, replaced the video card with a card I know was working, switched the PCI slot, switched the PSU, cleared CMOS, disconnected anything except for the power cables from the mainboard but the system doesn´t behave any differently.
This is an AM3+ platform with some kind of AMD FX CPU under it, but I don´t have thermal paste at hand and don´t want to remove the cooler.

I also checked the monitor and cables, so they are not the source of error as well.

So here´s the question:
Do you know any other trouble shooting steps I could go through? Do you think the MOBO or CPU are fried? Once again, the CPU led goes out again indicating it is okay, but I get nothing beyond that point. I am really dumbfounded since the system worked fine so I don´t know what could´ve happened. Thanks in advance!
