Hi, so I was thinking about upgrading my PC setup with a GTX 1080-ti, but I'am not a PC guy so I don't really know if it will be compatible with other parts. So I would like to know if my current setup would work with 1080-ti or would I have to upgrade other parts as well.

Here is what I'am currently working with:

Processor:
Intel Core i5-4690K, Socket-LGA1150
Quad Core, 3.5GHz, 6MB, 88W, 22nm, HD4600, incl. cooler

Wirless Adapter:
ASUS PCE-AC56 AC1300 Trådløs Adapter
Dual Band AC PCI-E Adapter 400+900Mbps

Storage:
HyperX Fury SSD 240GB 2,5"

Potential Issues / Incompatibilities
  • Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

The incompatibility point isn't an issue if you are successfully using your CPU with your motherboard already.

Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING OC used for this compatibility test.

Thanks for quick reply. Let's see if I got this right. So I need a new PSU because the one I got now doesn't have 2x 8-pin connectors and this video card requires it. Right? In that case, could you recommend a decent one that has it and would actually fit in to my PC case? And the same with the video card it self, would it fit by dimensoins or does every manufacture have different dimensions on that card or any video card in generall?

I had used the CX750 instead of the CX750M for the original build. That issue is not relevant anymore.

You can use the PCPartPicker site to try out different models of the 1080 Ti based on price, and see if it gives you any incompatibilities.

Upgrade the present PSU as well, the CX range of Corsair are only entry level or as Corsair put it here CX Series power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades.

For high end GPUs never use a lower efficiency rated PSU than Gold, you want something like the EVGA here 12 year warranty if you purchase through Newegg or 10 years elsewhere.
