Hey guys, i have build my new PC few days ago and since then i am trying to figure out how to install Windows 10 .

I have used Media Creation Tool in order to install Win 10 via USB flash drive, but i am either getting orange screen with vertical white stripes when attempting to boot through classic USB boot, or full blank blue screen using a UEFI priority.

The weird thing is that the exact same thing happens when i try USB boot on my current laptop, the only difference being a Windows logo appearing followed by blue screen while enabling UEFI.

Out of desperation i have took out HDD with Win 7 installed from my laptop and connect it to the PC. But i cant get pass login screen since my keyboard and mouse works only in BIOS, not with OS.

Any ideas? :(

My spec:

MSI b450 Tomahawk MAX

Ryzen 1600 AF

Radeon RX 5600 XT

Evga 650 W psu

HyperX Predator 1x16 GB

If you mean that if you try booting from the same USB device on both computers the same thing happens it suggests that either the Windows media is no good or that the USB device itself is faulty.

Best thing to do is check the ISO that you have on the USB thumbdrive. see Qemu info here for how to do this
 
Well i have tried Qemu on both USB driver (with win 10 files on it) and seperate Windows.iso on my desktop and in both cases all i ve got is this:

If you don`t get the Windows logo as can be seen in the attachment below it suggests that an ISO is non bootable.

Well, when i use qemu on an USB drive the windows logo pops up, but just for the split of the second and they its stuck on the black screen with an underscore at the top left.
Using in on the ISO file alone on the desktop the logo doesnt show up at all.

But i mean, i got both using Media Creation Tool, what else i can do?

We are not interested in the ISO on the desktop only the one on the USB device and what you describe suggests that the ISO on it is ok.

Two important things to remember when trying to boot from a USB device;

(1) The USB device must be in a black USB 2.0 port and not a blue or red USB 3/3.1 port.

(2) You need to disable secure boot in the BIOS, see steps below;

For computers that have UEFI as opposed to legacy BIOS, to be able to boot from your USB device you may need to disable secure boot and change UEFI to CSM Boot, not all computers and BIOS are the same, please refer to your user manual if you have one as the following steps are only one such example.

While the computer is re-starting,you will need to continually tap or hold down the particular key that will allow you to access the BIOS on your computer, we will use the F2 key as an example here;

After restarting the computer, when the screen goes black, press and hold down the F2 key, wait for the BIOS to load.

Select Security -> Secure Boot and then Disabled.

Select Advanced -> System Configuration and then Boot Mode.

Change UEFI Boot to CSM Boot. (It may say Legacy).

Save the changes and Exit the BIOS, commonly F10.
 
I found an option to select either Boot mode Legacy +UEFI, or just UEFI
Then in Windows OS Configuration there is BIOS CSM or UEFI option
But i looked everywhere and was unable to find a Secure Boot option.
 
You want Legacy or CSM, this was mentioned in my reply #6;

With the best will in the world we cannot be expected to know the exact steps for every single MB :unsure:
 
Yeah I am sorry man, I am just really frustrated at this point :(

I have tried every possible setting in BIOS, but its just not working.

However I took a different approach. I have upgraded OS on my laptop from Win 7 to Win 10, then put HDD in to my PC.
Windows loaded just fine and everything is working as it should be.

So I guess its safe to say its a USB malfunction? Which is "great" since I bought it only for this purpose -.-

I suppose there is no way to somewhat reinstall Win 10 from my HDD to SSD without some bootable device?
 
That`s good news at least but just so you know you got lucky using that approach as what normally happens is that Windows tries to load the drivers for the previous computers MB which as you can imagine doesn`t end well.

You can migrate whatever is on the HDD to the SSD and then swap them around in the boot configuration afterwards, we don`t know your SSD details so we will use an example of one that is very popular and that is Samsung Magician
 
Well, so I ve put HDD form my laptop to my PC with Win 10, follow this guys guide copying files from USB, then try to boot from SSD, but what do you know...again all I ve got is orange screen with white stripes, and again both on my PC and when i tried it on my laptop :/. I really dont know what to do at this point.
 
Why don`t you just do what you asked about and clone the install that is on the HDD over to the SSD.

Marking this thread as solved, the OPs initial query has been resolved, a means of cloning Windows from one drive to another has been provided and PCHF does not help with suggestions from elsewhere.
