Hello, again, it's me with yet another query.

I've noticed temperatures which I'm not exactly comfortable with (They are within good ranges, they're just higher then what I'm used to). So last night, I went online and I've ordered a bigger case with fans for better breathing (CiT G Froce), and a water cooler for my CPU (Maelstrom 120K). This should be a HUGE improvement compared to my tiny compact case now. So the temperatures should see a very nice decline.

Now this got me thinking, I've been playing a game called Player Unkowns Battle Grounds, and although this "new" build can play it fine, I'm not exactly enjoying the graphics (some textures on medium others on low) I think my graphics card is doing fine, which is a GTX 770 windforce by gigabyte. though the processor I have is on the "minimum requirements" for the game (FX-6300). Sometimes, I get some tearing, and just complete lock-ups, would I be right in thinking this is the processing power?

Therefor, I'm looking into Over Clocking my CPU when the new items have arrived. Though, looking online theres alot of stuff I just simply dont get, I can't find no "over clocking for dummies" section anywhere, they use big fancy words that are beyond me. I'm just wondering, should I be attempting to overclock my CPU with my limited experience? and if so, are there any sites that really (i mean REALLY) break it down?
 
Allen, IMHO overclocking is taking a risk. It causes extra stress on the system. I don't recommend it, others may and many have done it satisfactorily.

I don't want a huge increase. I know some people like to take it to the max, and push 4ghz out of a 3.5 CPU, I'm literally looking for 0.1ghz increase, you may think this is stupid, but I just want that extra drop. I never agreed with ocverclocking for the same reasons, I dont like the idea that my hardware is out-performing its range.

Hi Allan. Excellent choice in the Maelstrom 120-K
I have an FX-8150 O/C to 4646 MHz and stable. I will not advise how to O/C because if you get game and fry your Processor,I would be the worst in the world. I advise members on other Tech Sites to get their information off the Net.
"AMD Overdrive" is a good starting point if you wish to O/C. You need to learn how AMD Overdrive works, first.
Watch a lot of YouTube videos.

lol, it was you who referred it to me in my other thread. The price tag was nice too, so I thought "why not?" :)

I would have watched youtube videos, but what I read made everything so confusing, that to me it sounded like O/Cing is different for every rig, I could overclock to 4ghz, well someone else wouldn't be able to 50% of what I had. So I kinda steered away from youtubing anything. Though saying that I guess I should forget what I read because it's obvious I didn't understand any of the alien language XD

Thank you, I'll get researching AMD overdrive and go from there (y) Like I said though I don't want to O/C dramatically, I just want that tiny extra bit to stop the odd spike of tearing on my game.

Waiting to upgrade my PSU, then I'll look into over-clocking, I don't want to chance an OC with this power supply I have. It has only basic protection. I've looked into in youtube etc, I've got a decent know-how of how to use AMD Overdrive, and have been looking at safe parimeters so I dont fry my system, a mild over-clock should be easy enough when I get the new PSU.
