Okay.. so my pc wasn't powering at all, bought a new power supply, wasn't that.. bought a new motherboard and it worked, so I got a new power supply and motherboard and its all working fine except I'm not getting any signal to my monitors..
I have 2 monitors, 1 VGA and 1 HDMI, both monitors work, I've tried 2 graphics cards + the onboard graphics card but still nothing, tried unplugging the power to pc and holding in power button.. still nothing..
What am I missing? Any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance!

Hello

Do you have a way to test your monitors on another pc? Also check your wall outlet to make sure it is in good working order.

Both monitors were working before changing the power supply and graphics card, they power up and come up with the no signal icon, I just can't get the pc to get a signal to them

Hello folks,

I suggest starting with the basics Brinky but will need some hardware information from you first;

Please provide information about your computer, this includes is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable us to better assist you.

Mother board: Asus H81m-p plus
Power supply: Corsair cx600
16GB of ram
Graphics card: MSI Nvidia gtx 960 2GB and also tried an nvidia geforce gt730 4GB
Thanks

The following checks require the computer case to be opened so take the following safety precautions 1st, disconnect any attached hardware such as the keyboard and printer etc, disconnect the power cord from the wall socket, press the case power button for 10 seconds or so to get rid of any residual charge in the system, remove the side of the case, be sure to take anti static precautions before touching anything inside, you can do this by touching a bare metal part of the case or the PSU.

Make sure that the following are securely attached to the relevant headers on the MB.

1 x CPU Fan connector (1 x 4 -pin)
1 x 24-pin EATX Power connector
1 x 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector

Remove the add on video card.
Check that the RAM is securely seated in the memory slots (remove and replace is best).
Connect only the HDMI monitor to the HDMI port on the MB.
Reconnect the keyboard, mouse and power cord then test and post back with an update for us.

Hi, sorry for the delay, I didn't get a notification of your reply! I followed your steps and I'm still having the same issue

No worries, we all have other things to attend to so understand there may sometimes be a delay between replies.

Can you post your processor details for us so we can check to see if it has integrated graphics.

Based on what has been replaced and the testing already done it is not looking good for the CPU at the moment as you are not getting any graphics from the integrated HD 4600 on the processor, can I just make sure that the add on video was completely removed from the MB when you tried the boards HDMI port.

Only two other suggestions I can think of, try the MBs VGA port and try inserting only one stick of RAM at a time in each memory slot, try the slot nearest to the CPU first then move to the second etc.

Thanks Phil, I will try those when I get a chance. Yes the graphics card was completely removed from the board when I tried it.

Hi Phil, I just tried your suggestions and it turns out I have a naff ram port on my motherboard! Both sticks work but only in 1 of the ports so I'll be sending that back! Thanks again Phil you've been a huge help!

While not ideal it looks like you may have identified the culprit to be the MB :(

You are most welcome btw, thank you for the follow up Brinky and better luck with the replacement MB (y)

Okay I take it back, I tried it the next day and it's gone back to the 'no signal' issue, I'm just going to assume it's down to the motherboard being fault and will be getting a replacement and seeing how that works

Sorry, by that I meant I take back the fact that it's working, not the fact that you've been very helpful, just re read what I wrote and don't want it to be take the wrong way

Aye got that and was referring to the fact that you said in your replies #13 and #15 that your MB was bad, that you would be returning it and was asking you to let us know how things went with the new MB.

Not yet I'm afraid, been busy with work so haven't sorted it yet [emoji17] will let you all know when I get it done
