Hi there I have a rather old e-machine model e2464 when I switch it on I hear 1 short beep but nothing appears on the monitor. I removed the graphics card and switched on again, this time 1 beep the e-machines logo appeared on the monitor followed by a load of technical information.could my graphics card be faulty ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

.could my graphics card be faulty ?

Based on the info in your OP your add on GPU could be faulty but try putting it back in to see if the same problem happens, if it does then it more or less nails it on as being bad.

Make and model of the graphic card
Old and New

Make and Model of the Power supply Unit

Have you gone into the BIOS and checked and corrected if needed the Time and Date?

What happen when you press F1 to continue?

In addition to the above;

Note the checksum error and the time and date being wrong, you need to replace the CMOS battery.

Ok so I've managed to get the pc to boot to the login screen, however I can't remember the password.
Pc won't boot into safe mode, just comes back to login screen, so downloaded vista password recovery software to use sick and tried rebooting from that however get message saying missing operating system (See attached photo) so after slight progress I'm snookered again 20210627_112955.jpg 20210627_112955.jpg

From the boot up menue I also tried booting into safe mode with a command promt but once again just came back to login screen
Also tried repair my pc from.drop down menue but it require password to continue

The rate at which gas gets diffused is = to the rate at which gas gets densified, does this useless information help any, I suspect not, our professional tech assistance is provided for free here so please only do as is asked, alternatively, bring the PC into one of my workshops where we will willingly relieve you of £45 per hour for labour + the cost of any hardware replacements, your choice ;)

Mischief not sarcasm but however you take it the comment would not have been made if you had actually provided the requested info and done the suggested steps and then post any outcome so that people that were trying to help you could actually do so.

I hope that any other forum that you may post on has better luck extracting information from you than anyone here did. :(
