Hi All,
I'm completely stumped at this stage so this post is a last ditch effort.
I recently purchased a refurbished Toshiba Satellite Laptop P50t-B. Part Number PSPNVA-01E00n Serial Number 9E127888S.

When I first got it the sound was working, Cortana was speaking during setup.
After a couple of days I lost audio from both the internal laptop speakers as well as the 3.5mm audio jack port. During this time I did reinstall windows and perform a BIOS update (1.30 to 1.50). I believe this is where I lost audio however I don't specifically remember doing one of those actions and then loosing it immediately. I have a desktop PC and use that for essentially everything so the laptop wasn't being actively used for me to notice the change right away.
I DO get single POP sounds from the speakers during boot, randomly during running and when plugging in or removing audio jacks.
BIOS
I have reinstalled the 1.30 BIOS with no change. I have since installed the 1.50 BIOS again but using the Europe BIOS as I believe this laptop was brought into the country for Europe and I had installed the AUS/NZ BIOS. Perhaps installing the wrong BIOS destroyed the sound system/card permanently, It's my running theory at this point.
I THINK the laptop has a dual BIOS, if so causing it to trigger the BIOS re-flash/restore might bring me back to factory BIOS version but I haven't found a way to do this and am hesitant to mess with the BIOS anymore or use non-official tools. But I'm not sure if I have a choice at this point.
OS
In Windows 10 I have tried the default Windows Drivers, the Toshiba Drivers from their support site and I've run Snappy Drivers to do an automatic update. No luck with any of it. I'm currently running Windows 8.1 which was it's stock OS from Factory with the Toshiba drivers with no luck. (Laptop was already at Win10 when I got it).
I have tried Linux Ubuntu and Mint neither have sound but they do list a disabled built-in Audio device. I've been unable to find a way to enable this device. Both OS have HDMI audio available in sound settings and it's set as the current output.
Any help or advice at this point would be HUGELY appreciated. I've reached the limits of my knowledge.
Thanks for any assistance!
