Sorry, i know this is an old issue but i have not found a solution so im hoping i can here.

My brother gifted me a gaming pc back on Thursday, and the internet worked fine on it that day. However since then it will not connect, and when it does it is extremely slow. I have tried so many suggestions from youtube videos, and have cleared at least 3 pages of google suggestions, none of them have helped. I have messed around with my drivers, doing things like a network reset to no avail. I have messed around with the hardware in my pc but that was not the problem. The internet works perfectly fine on my phone, laptop and ps4, often breaking 25mbps on the speed test while the pc is lucky to reach 5 mbps so I don't believe its a problem with the internet.

I cant really mess with the router as my house mate pays for it and i dont want to ruin any part of the internet for my house mates. at this point all I can do is a wired connection which i plan to do through powerline adapters, but if that doesnt work them i am at a loss of what to do. Any help will be very much appreciated.

my windows version is 1909 if that helps

Welcome to PCHF penguiny,

If the computer is a desktop can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

I have actually fixed the issue by Switching the wifi card to another port, which i didnt realise i could do until my brother suggested it. (sorry if my terminology is wrong)
