Hi Bruce/Peter

No, I didn’t download any drives, all I did was connect the printer to my router with an ethernet cable and connected the power to it and just used the walk-through instructions on the printer screen more or less like in the video link for a similar Brother (unpacking and setup)

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=u...ate=ive&vld=cid:b41e5fbe,vid:z4vKSbeVB_U,st:0

I’ve just tried a 5 page document and sure enough as you said Bruce it printed them back to back.

As for a single page document, what can I say the penny as just dropped, why on earth would anyone want to print a document with same text on it back to back, unless of course there are two people facing each other reading from the same sheet, “I don’t think so”.

In any case for the unlikely occasion that was going to happen all that would need doing is to have the same text on two separate sheets and tell the printer to print it back to back, job done or do as you suggested Peter.

I’m assuming I don’t need to download driver’s having followed the instructions on the setup link above?

its printing from both the PC and laptop so I'm assuming there is nothing to be gain by downloading drivers?

If it's working, don't touch it!

But.... the driver should/usually gives you more control, more options, when printing - admittedly seldom used stuff like Secure Print, or paper tray selection, or printing off a USB stick, even converted data like a PDF file with weird fonts - things like that.
A printer driver sort of guarantees anything sent to the printer will print.

Sounds like you have everything under control, shall we close this thread?

there are two people facing each other reading from the same sheet, “I don’t think so”.
Yes, they are normally put in a Perspex holder so the same info can be read at the same time.
need doing is to have the same text on two separate sheets
Not at all.
Try it and see.
Open a document with one page only.
Set for 2-sided (Duplex) printing
As per my pic above make the page selection box 1,1 it will print the same image on both sides.

I’ve just tried setting the printer up as you suggested Peter and works a treat, same text on both sides.
I have to say I don’t know how you guys manage to find these things out.

Yes Bruce, you can close this thread and thanks again fellas for your time and patience.
