Hi,

I recently bought a HP ENVY Notebook 15-as050sa

When I remove the power cord (battery), the laptop starts making a lot of noise, it's like a whining high pitched annoying noise.

Does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks.

Hi!
Do you guys know how to turn off the CPU4 from the laptop? I try to go into Bios but there's no option there - HP told me that's the only way to resolve the issue.

CPU4? You mean Core #4? I don't see how turning off a core on the CPU will stop a whining noise.

You can't disable a core. You can however set it as a lower priority in Task Manager so that it won't be used as much.
