I just bought an ASUS 17" VivoBook. It freezes up periodically while on FB or streaming on BritBox using Firefox browser. Waiting, the screen will respond to a command after a few minutes but then stays stalled. I close the laptop and wait awhile and it is okay when I open it again.
My tech shop has run diagnostics on all of the hardware and cannot find anything wrong. They say it is not a virus.
I have shut it down and rebooted, but it still happens. Sometimes it will go two days without freezing, sometimes a few hours.
I usually have gmail tabs open, plus FB, a streaming site, and maybe a Libre Office document.
I have not downloaded any apps or software, I am only using what came with the computer.

Lastly, when I open a new Firefox window it has a flashing cursor in the address bar but still will not accept text. I have to click in it first. I have never seen this before.

Any ideas appreciated!

Colleen

BTW, ASUS website says they are not offering telephone support, nor is their live Chat available. They are completely unreachable.

With all the issues that you are having I would suggest exchanging it.

See if this helps at all try a clean boot to see if it makes any difference.
