Hello,
I've got a laptop on W10 that stopped booting recently with the 0xc00000e9 error. I've tried a number of things, including checking the SSD plugging, running cmd commands about bcd and such. The disk was seen using diskpart, chkdsk and sfc found nothing to repair. Using a live Ubuntu on an USB key, I was able to see the Windows disk and save all the important data. I then wanted to use a live Windows (on the same USB key) to try and repair or reinstall Windows, but I don't manage to do it.
I've made a W10 64b iso with the official MediaCreationTool and made my USB key bootable with Rufus (I've also made the USB bootable directly with MCT with the same results). I've tried every combinaison of Rufus and BIOS parameters but none seems to be working (see table bellow). Either I get a blank blue screen, either a scrambled screen with horizontal lines. Whenever I do get to the Windows installation part (only with the MBR type key), it says it can't repair Windows and neither can I make a new install of it because it says the drive is in GPT.
I've used both USB 2 and 3 slots on the laptop with the same results.
Is there another way to repair the 0xc00000e9 error ? Is there any option I'm missing to reinstall Windows on this laptop ? Would formating the disk let me install it afterwards ? Would installing Ubuntu over Windows allow me to install Windows back ?
Thanks very much for any help.
