hi so basically i have an i5 4690k Rx580 8gbVRAM 16gb of ddr3 and my games run super slow also ive realised on the american megatrends screen when booting up it says new cpu installed everytime Also my cpu usage goes up to 100% everytime i open a game and is constantly sitting at 20% anyone help me please?

Did this just start happening right out of the blue or was anything changed by yourself just previous to the problem starting.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

You missed answering the above.

Potentially the most important piece of information that we need so you are going to have to take off the side of the case and get the details off the information label on the PSU, the fact that you can`t remember the information in the first place suggests that the PSU may well not be the best.

Speccy etc can wait until we have the required PSU information.

I haven’t ever really noticed it but I think it’s been like it for the 2 years of having my pc

All the time that this has been going on it has been damaging all of your hardware and the issue most likely initially caused by the below, you have other things going on in Speccy as well but the weak PSU is your most pressing issue.

PSU is EVGA gold 500w

EVGA are a good brand and Gold efficiency rating normally a good sign but not with the present PSU and the hardware that you have hooked up to your PC, allowing for the additional screens and storage devices that you have hooked up you should have a minimum of a 600W Gold or above efficiency rated PSU from either Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic, any PSU that you purchase should always have a minimum of seven but preferably a ten year warranty period.

The present PSU is rated as Tier C • Recommended for cheap mid/low-end systems when new your computer was far from cheap or low end and so should have had a PSU rated as at least Tier B.

The poor performance yes and until you have an appropriate PSU there is very little that you can do other than go down to only the one screen and a couple of storage devices, this to lighten the load on the present PSU.

The CPU error code is either driver or BIOS related and has nothing to do with any poor performance.

It is back to the above I`m afraid and as is the norm we always suggest that members get their computers tested by a local tech before making any purchase, either that or they try and borrow an appropriate PSU to swap in for testing purposes.

If you were to do this we could recommend some of the other things that were spotted in Speccy, if performance improved after doing the tests you could feel more confident about purchasing an appropriate PSU.

Not that simple, disconnect the 42" TV and the Benq monitor from the GPU, power up the computer, run Speccy and post the new url for us.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: high po

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

Memory
Type: DDR3
Size: 16384 MBytes
Channels #: Dual
DRAM Frequency: 665.8 MHz

Go into the BIOS and enable XMP so that the RAM runs at the 800/1600MHz that it is capable of.

Once done, restart the PC and post back and we will provide the steps to do some testing, do not go off and do anything else first.

As an asides, the amount of USB devices that you have hooked up also puts a drain on the PSU and associated hardware, primarily the USB ports and the MB itself.

I need a guide to help do that thing in the bios please I’m not really sure how to and also I mainly use pc for gaming so wouldn’t it be a good idea for the gpu to have more power?

I’ve enabled it only on 1 ram stick since the other one is apparently not supported for it
