I run a PNY GeForce RTX 3070 8gb gpu, and with several tests with user benchmark, overclocking my gpu, changing settings in games, and even in my windows settings I can't seem to boost frames or performance. In games like fortnite I was able to run around 240 fps a little while ago but ever since I took around a 2 month break from the game and switched to other games like valorant my performance has been weaker than before. I run about 170 fps on lowest settings in valorant and only 80 in fortnite now! In my user benchmark results my pc is underperforming largely compared to others with the same build, does anyone have any fixes or understand what the problem may be?

This is the link to my userbenchmark results if you would like to view them:

Let’s get all the hardware and software info of your system.
No personal data is published and everything shown is safe.

1) Download Speccy by Piriform.
In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
Paste that link into your post. Is Speccy safe?

2) Download GetSystemInfo by Kaspersky.
In GSI, click Start. (takes about 10mins)
It makes a ZIP file on your desktop, drag that to their GSI Parser site.
Once analysed, paste the newly created URL into your post.

3) Download MiniToolBox by Farbar.
In MTB, tick List Installed Programs, click Go then close the program.
A file MTB.txt is created in the same folder, attach that to your post.

4) No software can interrogate the Power Supply Unit so list the make/model of the PSU.

5) Go to www.speedtest.net and screenshot your network speeds.

Let's get the ball rolling with some checks and cleanups.

Try these from an elevated command prompt;
- chkdsk c: /r
- sfc /scannow
- dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
- dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

Cleanup suggestions;
* CCleaner or Glary Disk Cleaner

Note: when running CCleaner, only run the Custom Clean, not the Health Check, or Registry clean, or Driver Updater features. When installing, be sure to check all pre-selected options carefully and not simply allow it to use default suggestions. It may offer to install AVG Anti-virus, skip this. It will also add a Smart Cleaning process to Windows Startup and a couple of tasks to Task Scheduler – these can be disabled from within CCleaner.

In CCleaner;
  • click Custom Clean > Run CCleaner
  • after that, go to Tools > Startup
    • in the Windows, Scheduled Tasks, and Services tabs, double click the entries to disable

I was able to run CCleaner and disable all on startup programs although I'm not sure how to run the elevated command prompts.

Thanks for gathering all that info. (y)

From the reports;
  • try connecting using the ethernet port rather than the wifi adapter.
  • while not yet critical, C:\ drive is down to 14% free space. Get WizTree to find out where the space has gone.
  • the 1TB Western Digital drive seems to be unused and not assigned a drive letter.
  • the PSU, while good wattage, is only Bronze certified. Your M1 model couldn't be found here but the P1 model is ranked Tier C - Low End.
  • your BIOS is F2, latest seems to be F9. The F8 release talks about a fix to the RTX3060 cards, so while not yours, they are in the same family.
In CCleaner, while disabling all the Startup programs won't cause any harm, some may be nice to keep.
Same for the Scheduled Tasks and Windows Services tabs.
This is your opportunity to investigate what is running on your rig and remove what you deem fit as unnecessary.

As to the elevated command, right click the Start button, click Run, type in cmd and press Ctrl+Shift and click Run.
Hit Yes to "allow this app..."
Now you can copy/paste each of those 4 commands, in turn, and see if they find issues.

Thanks so much for the feedback Bruce! One of the things I was wondering is how to properly update my bios as I wanted to try on my own in the past but wasn't sure how to and didn't want to mess anything up without the proper information. Also I'm unable to connect my pc to an ethernet adapter as the room my setup is in doesn't have that type of connection in the electrical outlets, if that's not what you're referring to my current wifi connection through the wifi adapter is a usb B connection not an ethernet connection to the back of my pc. I was also wondering if you could recommend a better power supply for my pc and if I were to get a new one should I install it myself or take it to a pc specialist? But thank you so much for the storage help I had been wondering for so long why I had less space than my Ps5! I have already setup the storage.

I suggest using this tool to regain privacy and turn off unneeded settings.

When gaming, or doing anything that needs intensive internet access, ethernet is always better than wireless.
Yes, wifi has come a long way but I'm yet to see it be better than ethernet.
If it isn't too much trouble, it would be good to relocate the rig to where you have the modem and connect directly to it. That will at least prove or disprove if your wifi is the cause.

As to PSU recommendation, that's easy. Any power supply certified 80+ Gold (at least) and with at least a 7 year warranty (prefer 10), and you can’t go wrong.
For example, ThermalTake ToughPower GF1 or GF3 ranges, Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair RM series (just to get you started).

With the BIOS, the update process varies between motherboards. But the theory is;
  • go to Gigabyte's support website, and for your model of mobo, download the latest BIOS version
  • unzip the downloaded file and copy the files to a USB stick
  • leave the stick in and reboot the PC
  • as it boots, hit the key to get into BIOS, usually F2, Del, or F10
  • find Q-Flash and select the BIOS update file on the USB stick
  • the update can take a few minutes and the PC should restart
If that all seems too hard or you can't find Q-Flash, they also provide a Windows based update program called @BIOS. Haven't used it for ages but from memory you run it and it'll find the latest version and update the BIOS for you, all within Windows.

Thanks a ton I updated my bios to the latest F9 version! The only other thing I was wondering is if you recommend installing a new power supply on my own, or do you recommend sending it to a pc specialist to get the job done?

Power supply units are one of the easier parts to play with.
It is only their sheer size, weight and number of cables that make them seem daunting.

As with any PC work, take your time, look at online videos if necessary, even take a photo of the setup before you start.

You just have to make sure you reconnect all the cables to the components that need them.
Good news, the cable ends are 'keyed' in a way that means you can't put them somewhere you aren't meant to, and they only orientate one way into their port as well.
If you find yourself pushing too hard, or say 'this doesn't seem to fit' then you probably have the wrong cable in the wrong port. (y)

Thanks so much! I already got a new psu 80+ gold rated, the thermaltake toughpower gf3. I already installed it and my pc seems to be working completely fine and even improved, the only problem is my pc case fans no longer spin or light up with RGB when I start my computer or when I’m actively using it. Do you have any ideas for fixes? I’ve also checked the connections and everything I unplugged and plugged back in after the psu replacement but I’m still unable to fix the problem.

Just to clarify - PC is working fine, and CPU, PSU, and GPU fans are working?
And all the case fans are not working?
And all case fans are RGB?

Do the case fans plug directly into a header on the mobo, or do they go into a RGB controller unit?
That mobo, has 3 system fan headers (labelled SYS_FAN1, SYS_FAN2, and SYS_FAN3) and a RGB LED strip header (D_LED1 and LED_C1)..

Where are your case fans connected to?

Yes my pc is working completely fine. My RGB fans are connected on the back side behind my motherboard, I’m able to send a picture if you would like me to. Also yes my gpu and cpu fans are all working correctly.

Yeah, picture may help.
I'd be trying to plug each case fan into a SYS_FAN header on the motherboard myself, just to get them working until this gets resolved.
Worst case, you have no pretty lights but at least you have cooling.

This is a picture of the back of my pc and the thing my fans are connected to. I also want to mention that both of the wires I’m holding are connected to this board at the bottom. Although when I replaced my psu originally these were connected to nothing, which confused me as I didn’t see any other way the board could get power. I also looked for places around my motherboard and psu for places they could plug in or fit but I couldn’t find anything. I was also wondering where on my motherboard I should try connecting my fans to, as I can’t find anywhere it would seem to fit.

That cable to the right is an RGB cable that goes onto the RGB controller on the motherboard. It looks like this
RGB header (1).png

I connected it to the led_c1 but it didn’t make any changes to my case fans, none of them are functional

Unfortunately I don’t think I’m able to connect them to the sys_fan connection as they are different connection types. I have pictures below to show, but if you’re not referring to this please let me know what I should be looking for.
