I can do pretty well with basics. Recently when I open history all the collected websites from the day drop down. I pay attention to not letting that build up. That is one of the basics in navigating our computers to that things run well. >>>( not slow) When I click on the history icon at the top of the web page. Edge and Yahoo/default. the usual drop list comes down with all the websites I have been to for the day or before if I didn't do the usual "clean up" I usually click on the day where the X shows up. I have been clicking on that and I can see the pages "go" when I delete. Sometimes I have clicked on each individual page where an x appears to delete. Now it seems like it has frozen. I don't understand why??? Then another quirk; when I go into my email I of course delete after I have checked each email. Then when I go back to the yahoo home page, it still shows the same number of email where it appears top right corner of webpage. It should show no email. Strange and annoying to me. What other problem does this POINT TOO? I would really like to know??? Did I do something to cause this? Or is it in settings? THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

Have you considered letting Edge do your browsing history cleaning for you, every time it closes?
To set this, in Edge, go to Settings, in the left column under Profile you'll see the group named Privacy, search and services, in that, scroll down and under Delete browsing data, click Choose what to clear every time you close the browser, slide the switch in Browsing history.

Also, although Edge is a big leap forward over the rubbish Internet Explorer, and better again since Microsoft switched over to using the chromium engine that now drives Edge, why not use what the industry deems to be better browsers, like Firefox or Chrome?

Thank you Bruce. I made the changes, so it shouldn't be a problem. Believe it or not, My computer use history goes back to 2003 forward. All Dell computers except for now; HP. I do all the maintenance things everyone should do. When we still had the Staples store, the young guys there said I was above average for most people knowing the basics. That was a few years back. I'm 77 now. So not to bad. Also, I have learned as I go by following all the different computer help sources. And of course Youtube videos. From 2003 I stayed with what came with my computers; early days IE, and now Edge. No problems.! I have heard Pros and cons on everything. so It is a matter of choosing a pro or dumping the cons. LOL Thank you

Glad to help.

If you do decide on switching browsers, your Bookmarks, History, saved passwords and such can be migrated across.
If you get stuck doing that, we are one post away! (y)

Thank you Bruce. I messed up on the first email message to tell me of your post. I responded from there and didn't pay attention that I need to come to the web site. Firefox has been an alternative to what MS HAS for browsers. My computer time goes back to 2003. I have learned a lot. I'm 77!!! Several years back when we still had the staples store the repair guys always said I was above average in being able to navigate my computer from learned skills. Ha! For my age. But I like to learn and keep a notebook of how to notes on the basics if I forget a step. A while back I was hearing that Firefox was having some issues. And of course there is always different opinions. Thank you for your response. I guess I will have to get in the habit of coming back here just to learn from other posts. Hey! I surprised myself and set up my new HP computer a year ago. MY SELF!! I went to youtube!!!! lol But it worked Sooo I was "grateful" Thanks again >>>Jean
