Good morning. My mouse scroll has stopped working, everythingelse works fine on it. Went and bought a new mouse but still have the same problem. Checked the mouse settings on the pc and the coll is set to 3-3. Changed it to 7-4 but made no difference. Any hell would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you can update the mouse drivers , thru the manufacture's website and if not thru device manager..

Did that too. Uninstalled every mouse and downloaded the manufacturers drivers. Still nothing.

Strange update. Just found an old wireless mouse. Plugged that in and the scroll works. Tried using different USB ports for the wired and still nothing.

Looong shot.... maybe you have corrupted system files.

Try these from an elevated command prompt;
  • chkdsk c: /r
  • sfc /scannow
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

Yea I'm lost now. Someone mentioned a hardware issue but I have no idea where to look.

Did you try the suggestions in post #7?

Give us the make/model of old and new wired mouses that don't work.
And the make/model of the wireless mouse that does work?

Let’s get your complete PC specs.
Get Speccy; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot (hit Yes if prompted to proceed with publish) > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
Now you can paste that link into your next post.

Speccy doesn’t show the Power Supply Unit so, if a Desktop PC, list the make/model of the PSU.

Is Speccy safe?
