I recently got a pc and at the sellers house it worked like a charm I was given all the same cables. When I went to connect at home the monitor doesn’t detect the pc. I’ve tried the dvi to hdmi cable given to me by the seller which worked at his place I’ve tried another new hdmi cable that was working on another pc I’ve teied reinstalling the graphics card I’ve tried it on 3 different monitors still doesn’t work. I’ve even tried a different graphics card that works on another pc but again the monitor detects nothing. The pc you is a prebuilt pc that was originally brought from the trusted GAME shop and has not been modified. Please someone help me out :(

Welcome to PCHF Sharky704.

Do you get any error message on the screen at all or does the screen remain black.

Try removing and reseating the RAM in case it has been disturbed in shipping.

Please provide information about your hardware, post the brand and model name or number for the MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card, the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable us to better assist you.

Thanks for warm welcome and quick response.

There’s no error message or is as if there’s no hdmi connected. It simply says no single detected. As if the PCis turned off or disconnected from the TV.

It’s model can be found here https://www.asus.com/uk/Tower-PCs/ROG-G20CB/

(ROG G20CB)

Usually I’d boot up the pc to see the specs but I can’t right now due to the issue. But In addition to the link above and model number I have in the link below various pictures of my PC. If you still need anything or if what I’ve provided is not enough let me know.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could point out where the ram is it’s a vary compact build and I can’t seem to figure out where it is thanks for your patience

Sorry but it is the other way around as in the display is telling you that it is not receiving any video signal from the computer.

I’ve even tried a different graphics card that works on another pc but again the monitor detects nothing.
Looked at the specs for the computer and it apparently has onboard graphics as well as an add on video card, are you sure that you are plugging the screen into the add on video card port and not the one on the MB, the onboard graphics are disabled when an add on video card is detected and that would result in a no signal message.

Got an early start in the morning so going offline now, will check back asap tomorrow and for now would suggest that you leave the RAM alone, check that you are hooked up to the add on GPU and not the MB + should that not resolve the issue try removing the add on video card from the MB altogether and hooking up to the appropriate video port on the MB and see if that gets you a display.

Tip
If using a computer and not a mobile phone, please avoid adding multiple posts while waiting for us to reply to your last, edit your last post to include anything that you wish to add, this will ensure nothing gets overlooked which can sometimes happen if a thread has more than one page, it also avoids filling up folks inbox

sorry I couldn’t find the edit button, I guess that sums up my pc knowledge. I hooked it onto the add on GPU like you suggested and everything works perfectly! Thank you so much. I guess it’s just a new build and I got confused. But I can’t express how much more helpful and professional this forum has been, all other forums just essentially called me an idiot for having a compact PC. Anyway thank you!

Glad to hear that the issue is now resolved and that we were able to help :)

You are welcome btw and you know where we are should you need such help in the future (y)
