Recently I've been having memory problems on my laptop, upon startup entering the task manager it beings with 5+gb being used. I don't know how to fix this, I have already tried multiple help videos/forums so I decided to post my own. So far I have, wiped my hard drive, reinstalled windows, used regedit to disable some services, installed new graphics drivers, installed new intel drivers, disabled all startup programs, deleted unnecessary background apps . I've also installed rammap, though it only seems to be a temporary fix by emptying the sets. I need to use the computer for unity, but I can't compile anything since basically all of my ram is being used up. Any help on this would be very appreciated as I need to continue work.

g'day Adam and welcome to the forum. :)

what resources are using the memory?
to find out, start Task Manager, on the Processes tab, click the Memory column to sort it in descending order.
show us that snapshot.

As well as what Bruce asked for

Can you Download and run and then post. https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The last part of each URL is randomized, so only people you provide with the URL will be able to find your profile.

The information given in Speccy cannot be used by anyone to hack your system

Could you also include the power supply specs E.g Cooler Master 850W Gold V2 NOT E.g 850w

RAM (Memory)

For most Unity tasks, 8GBs of RAM is generally enough, but I would recommend getting a minimum of 16GBs as 8GB is going to get eaten up fast when it gets allocated to your OS, browser, Unity, and whatever else you might have running.

But if you’re planning on serious work, 32GB isn’t all that much more and can really help.
