I sent in my 2019 MacBook Pro (upgraded CPU & RAM) in for repair because of a cracked screen. They flagged up water damage as well, quoting £1,089 +VAT for the repair.

Is it worth getting the screen repaired, this will have to be from another store which hopefully the same display quality, or will I end up paying for this and it still breaks.

I’m also unsure if I can just get this but cleaned up third party.

g'day and welcome to the forums.

hmmm, tough call.
if it was mine - cracked screen, water damage (if you can trust them) and age, would dictate to me my money is better spent on a new unit.
and I could buy two Windows PC for the cost of one Mac - but let's not open that door! (y)
I have iPads, iPhones, Apple TV, even an old iTouch still in use but I've never understood the Macs vs a PC - but that's another story.

sadly only you can decide if it is worth the expense - having forked out for the initial purchase, I'm guessing you'll find it is.

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, it’s the trusting them with how badly it’s affected which makes me unsure. Ahah, don’t worry I’ve been PC for years but like both. Having a mac makes my life easier for work and having everything formatted the same.

Think I’m just going to have to bite the bullet and sell to knock off some money for the next one. Just pains me to have to pay more for arguably a worse machine as I got the upgraded parts.

Thanks a bunch though!
