Hey guy's I've been having a continuous problem. I have my 4K tv hooked up to my laptop via HDMI, my laptop is a HP ProBook 450 G3, with 16GB of RAM a M.2 256GB SSD, and a 1TB SSD. My graphics card (if you can call it that) is a Intel HD Graphics 520 card. For months now I have been having an issue with my TV randonly losing video, but not audio. In order to get the video back I have to change the video source on the TV then go back to HDMI. I currently have the resolution on my laptop set to 3840 x 2160. Well I've been getting really irritated by this problem and intially thought it was the TV, so I was going to buy a new TV next week. But then I got the idea of trying my roommates laptop connected to the tv, and playing a video file that always made that problem occur at a certain point in the video.
Well I played the video using his laptop and it didn't black out. But his laptop is very old and doesn't support 4k, so I got the idea of going into the Intel Graphics settings, and on a lark decided to change the graphics card refresh rate from 24Hz to 30Hz. I replayed the video and sure enough it didn't wig out on me. So to make a long story short has anyone ever heard of a problem like this, that having the refresh rate set too low will cause random picture loss? I've replayed the video multiple times and it now doesn't lose picture so hopefully it's fixed. I've never heard of there being a problem with the refresh rate set too low, usually I've only heard of a problem occurring if it's set too high, but setting it higher for me seems to have fixed the issue.
Any help would be appreciated, this kinda has me baffled.
