I am thinking of getting a refurbished computer with Windows 10, there are so many choices I'm not sure what to get. I know I want a desktop. These are the things I do:
Internet- Facebook, You Tube when there's not too much buffering (our internet speed is slow), selling on eBay so I do use a printer, mostly for address labels. Shopping. Email. Occasional dvd movies or ones from a flash drive.
I would like a simple photo editing program, I'm still using Microsoft picture it on my old XP computer.
For word processing, my old pcs have Microsoft word but I don't need all the other Microsoft office stuff, except Outlook would be nice but I could probably get used to something else for email.
I would like to play music, I'm still using the old XP computer for that because the Windows Media Player on this Windows 7 computer doesn't do a good job of making the volume of each song about the same (can't remember what they call that).
Currently I have 3gb of pictures and 4gb of music.
I have a nice Samsung monitor and and Epson ET 2750 printer. Some of the refurbs I have looked at come with a keyboard and mouse for about $5, so I would get those if offered.
Questions: I think I should replace The Windows 7 computer, what do you think? Besides the fact that it turns into a pumpkin on the 14th, the 75gb disk is pretty full, and I have been told that if 1/3 of the disk is not free it affects performance, is this correct?
Is Windows 10 always 64 bit? I think I would want that. Also should I get Professional or Home? On the refurbs I don't think there's much difference in price, not sure what the advantages of Pro are.
I have been looking at refurbishers on eBay (I am an eBay seller and very savvy about eBay so I know how to be cautious). The computers I have been interested in have Intel i5 processor, 16gb RAM, and I don't know if I should get 1TB hard drive or 512gb SSD (would 512gb be enough?). Also one I was looking at has some 3.0 USB ports, are they important? Are integrated on board graphics ok or should I have a graphics card? If so how do I know what graphics card to get? What else do I need to know? Thanks for helping.
