I have a large number of documents and pictures and my boot drive is getting full so i wanted to relocated the libraries to a second drive. I physically moved the files to new folders and adjusted the property/location on both libraries to point to the new folders.

In Settings I changed the default save locations but that only allows me to select a drive, not a folder. The new folders are called the default names.

At the moment programs continue to save to the default libraries and I end up with files everywhere (at least as viewed in Explorer, I know libraries are only pointers.) You can see the mess in the screen grab. I'd rather if I could force Win 10 to save to specific folders rather than all this virtual library nonsense.

FYI - you can only change the location of 'special' folders - Documents, Desktop, Pictures etc.

if things are still saving to the default libraries, your change didn't work.

right click Pictures (for example), Properties, Location tab, change the C:\ to the desired new drive and click OK (3 times from memory) and it'll do the move for you.

sometimes Explorer still shows the old location, usually a reboot fixes it.
