Hi, I am facing an issue with my PC. I am trying to use my LG 43 inch 4K TV (UK6360PTE) as pc monitor but failed to do so. TV has hdmi port but my pc has vga and no hdmi. I have used a converter but didn't worked, no display at all. Talked with lg customer care they told - pc motherboard must be a hdmi motherboard otherwise it will not work even no converter will work. My pc technician told me hdmi graphics card will work. Now the problem is should I convert the non hdmi motherboard to a hdmi motherboard or hdmi graphics card will solve the problem for 4k display ?

Widows 10 pro
version 20H2
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G4400 @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Installed RAM 4.00 GB (3.87 GB usable)

Hello

Well if the tech said it would work the graphics card would be cheaper than a new mobo.. What type of mobo do you have?

Sorry for the late response. This my pc motherboard (pic attached). I want to set my LG 43inch 4k tv (UK6360PTE) as a 4k monitor to watch you tube and other streaming videos in 4k resolution. Also to watch 4k movies via external hard drive/pen drive.

I would be getting a good graphics card to go into that motherboard.
while the price of motherboards and graphics cards can be similar, changing your motherboard will require stripping out all the components and making sure everything you currently have will still be compatible with the new board.

whereas, getting an add-on graphics card is much less painful.
all going well, new card slots in, install the supplied drivers from the CD, plug in your LG TV via a HDMI cable, and your good to go!
