Hello,

My laptop has a smashed screen. It was only cheap and I would rather just purchase a replacement. However, on the hard drive there were several files that were important to me. Files that carrying a sentimental value, as it were. Is there any way I can salvage these files? The hard drive is undamaged, in so far as I know.

What's the easiest way to do this? Should I just buy the same make and model laptop and switch the hard drives?

Kind regards,

Why not get an external caddy for the drive.
find out what the laptop driver is, m.2 SATA or 2.5” SATA, and get the corresponding enclosure.
