Nick, as SSDs go, this one seems very slow. Must be the PATA connection. Out of curiosity, why did you buy it?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 with a lot of sentimental value, and its original IBM Travelstar 20gb HD was failing. So, I found this IDE SSD, which is more than enough storage for that computer and it was pretty dang cheap so I went for it.

Hopefully I'll have an update soon. We can close this for now and I'll reopen it if something I've done has caused the SSD to light my computer on fire.
