Hi guys, this isnt really an "issue" but i might be going for a trade on gumtree for the following
i have : Amd Ryzen 3 2200g, 8gb ddr4 rgb geil super luce, evga 450bv, thermaltake core chassis v1, asus rog strix gaming b350-i (all brand new) total value $600aud
they have: Alienware m14x r2 i7 model 8gb ddr3 latop (2012) total value (second hand: $500 ish) new :$1400 (around that mark)
i know that the laptop is old but due to the limitations of my power supply i can only really put in graphics cards such as the gtx 1050 and ti variant because of the low power consumption and the fact that they have no need for the supplemental power that most graphics cards draw from the psu directly which means that i cant just buy and cheap second hand gpu to put into it and even if i buy a new psu and a graphics card that requires the extra power i will be spending around the same amount as just buying a brand new gtx 1050ti and not having to buy a new psu. ( no i cannot just sell the desktop without the graphics card because the motherboard doesnt have an onboard video output/adaptor of any kind). Basically i cant fix up this desktop anytime soon.

Should i go through with the trade or just wait until an opportunity to get a gtx 1050ti opens up?

You'd be better off going with new parts, and the ROG STRIX Gaming board has an M.2 slot, so you can upgrade to an M.2 NVMe SSD that'll prove superior over all other drives
