I can't seem to understand what's cause my wifi connection to be unstable.
I've started noticing it when I was in a game. I would notice lag spikes that would progressively get worse. What had me look into it was, while in discord, I would notice that when my friends are talking. They would start cutting out and would sound robotic in a sense.
I noticed discord ping would shoot from 70 to about 300 or so randomly.
When I check my Wi-Fi perfomance, under the performance tab in task manager, receiving speed would shoot anywhere from 50kbps - 50 mbps, and generally around the same with sending speed (but consistently a little less than receiving).
I did notice around the time we installed security cameras around our home, I started to realize that lag spikes. I thought maybe because it's streaming LIVE HD that may be the issue. Our security cameras are connected via ether net. But I've tried disconnecting the ether net cable but I'm still experiencing the same issue. I've contacted my internet provider and they have no issues on their end. They've performed multiple tests on their end and they see no problems.
I thought maybe it was my wireless adapter but my other computer with a wireless adapter is having the same issues as well.
I've tried hard resetting router by getting a small pin and pressing the button on back of router.
I've also tried setting the QoS settings to make my priority, but still have issues with lag spikes.
I'm starting to think our router is starting to malfunction or something.

I just don't know what else to do at this point. I don't want to have to connect with an ether net cord because that would require to having it run through our kitchen which we don't want.
I was just going to purchase power lines network adapters. But I thought I try PC Help Forums as they helped me in the past. Don't want to have to spend any money if I don't have to. I don't want power line adapters failing me either.
Let me know if you would like any screen shots that might help.
Thanks for reading.

Hello Jason Kim,

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

I thought maybe it was my wireless adapter but my other computer with a wireless adapter is having the same issues as well.
Suggests a problem with the router, the service to the router or a combination of both.

Call me a skeptic but I tend to take what ISPs say about the service that you are receiving with a large grain of salt!

Are either of the computers portable enough to move to a family member or friends house so you can see if the issue is the same there. alternatively, anyone you know got a compatible router you could borrow just for testing purposes.

Internet connectivity problems are difficult to diagnose without having compatible hardware to hand to swap around.

Any update for us Jason Kim? If unreplied to within 48hrs this thread will be closed.
