I have a HP hp psc 750 printer that will not print. I've had it a while just never used it lately because of an upgrade, I put it away when I thought I had used up all the ink but I found 2 new, unopened black cartridges and would like to use them up. So hooked the printer up and aligned the cartridges, (left the empty colour in) it printed fine. Then I tryed a word document and only the top couple lines printed then it ran out of ink. Any ideas.

If your printer is explicitly saying that the ink cartridges are empty, then they are empty. Ink dries up or expires over time, opened or not.

I have to agree, also you may have to clean those ink jet ports in the printer with a Q tip and rubbing alcohol.
