Hello all. I'm looking to build out my home office set up, so that it's more convenient to use. I have 2 HP laptops (1 work, 1 personal). I will be buying 3 new monitors (probably 24"). What I'm looking for is:
  1. Is there a way for me to connect both laptops, and all peripherals to a single "docking station"? Ideally, I'd like to be able to move from my work laptop, to my personal laptop by "flipping a switch".
  2. What would be a recommended monitor stand for all 3 monitors? I've seen some that clamp onto the desk, but that's not overly feasible with the desk that I have.
I have done some research on these items, but I'm not overly confident that I understand what I'm reading, so I wanted to reach out before I start buying stuff.

all the laptop docking stations I've come across only support one laptop at a time.
sounds what you are chasing is a KVM switch (keyboard, video, mouse) where you share the screens with either laptop depending on the switch position.

and you could make all that easier with less monitors.
I used to be a big fan of two or three screens, then I discovered 27" or 32" ones where I simply snap whatever program window to the left or right via the Windows + arrow keys.
less desk real estate needs, less cables, less power.
 
I agree with Bruce a KVM switch if you want 3 monitors try this Click On Me
I do not know how stable that would be. Why not use the stands that the monitor comes with ?
Now days they do not take up much more room then a monitor.
Buy a quality KVM - I have used what I consider good and I have used cheap. Cheap = problems.

This is the kind of thing we are talking about for KVM Click On Me
I am NOT saying to buy a Startech I do not know if they are a quality brand or not. This is purely to show what we mean by KVM.
If you use hot keys it can be mounted out of site.
What would be best to decide if you go down this path is choose the kind of KVM you want then pick the monitors to suit the
connection type so you do not need adapters.
 
On your current laptops how many monitors can you connect ?
Do you have VGA & HDMI on at least one laptop? or do you have more than 2 usb ports
