i have most of my games on my m.2, they have been running fine up until today now all of a sudden its like the frames drop in game but its showing that my frames are normal but when i bring up another window and i have the game running in the background it runs properly at 30 fps which is what i set the background frames to and now i cant login to steam either. has anyone any help as i have no idea how to fix any of this? I am running an AMD ryzen 3600, an Radeon RX 580, my m.2 is a Corsair mp510 480gb, my motherboard is an ASUS Prime B450M-a.

So others can assist you better lets start with this

Error Messages?
Reboot?

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

This does not include any information about the PSU we will need to have the make and model.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

to add to what's already been said, plus I reckon I'm even less of a gamer than Rusty - as in zero.
but...

I'd be attacking it for starters from a system maintenance angle.
do a TRIM on the m.2 drive - File Explorer > right click drive > Tools > Optimise.
get CCleaner (that link is for version 40, the last good one before they screwed it up) or Glary Disk Cleaner and clean out your system of junk, temp file, cache etc.
do a manual Windows Update.
disable Restore Points.
move the paging file off the m.2 drive.

Ive not tried amy of that, but it doesnt do it on videos only 2 of the games i own and it only started after the valorant update. Ill give that a go next time im on my pc

just trying to eliminate some likely culprits. :)
may come to nothing, but might as well have them done before someone else comes along and says "have you tried turning it off and on again?"
