Hello everyone!!

For the past 2 weeks all my games crash during some point. Sometimes I can play for an hour or so and other times it just crashes after 5 minutes. I have WhoCrashedIt but im not sure how to read it correctly or what's going on. I've updated all my drivers. I did a clean install on the video card using ddu and even tried older drivers which made everything worse. The reliability window shows "nvidia container" closing constantly. The whocrashed report mentions a range of issues. Example: "kernel security check failure description: the kernel has detected the corruption of a data structure. A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause Module: UNKNOWN." Another Example: "this indicates that the kernel mode heap manager detected corruption in a heap. Module: ntoskrnl.exe". This ntoskrnl.exe module had another failure with a different description error code "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL"

I will post whatever I need to help get this issue fixed. All my games crash from a range of Diablo to the newer games like Cold War and Valhalla.

Thanks in advance!

My current specs:

system: windows 10
cpu: Ryzen 5 2600
ramz; 32gb ddr4 3000mhz
motherboard: bazooka v-2 MS-7A38
graphics: msi gtx 1060 6gb

Hello miamigamer86,

Before we go any further, this forum is for dealing with Windows crashing and analysing the crash dmp/s that are generated, if you are getting Windows BSOD upload the dmps using only the method below, if not BSOD related, let us know and we will move the thread to the more appropriate forum.

1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the Attach button, bottom left of the dialogue input box

Please note that any crash dmps that are two or more days old are of no use.

This is definitely BSOD related because while I'm playing my games is when they happen.

Ive attached the file as you requested.

Thanks again!

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as I have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,, thanks.

Three different causes of each crash but there was a constant and that was the GPU which could be failing, see screenshot of that particular dmp below, the outsider was a problem with Windows itself btw.

We are going to need to take a closer look at your set up;

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

You have more than one issue going on but the most pressing is the low amount of free storage space on the C: partition where Windows lives;

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 80966A0C
Size: 930 GB
Used Space: 873 GB (93%)
Free Space: 57 GB (7%)

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% (15 and 20% on an SSD) of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

Uninstall as many unused programs, games, videos and music files as you can and get yourself another means of backing up to, post back when you have between 10 and 20% free storage on the C: drive/partition and we can go from there.

That looks better (y)

Couple of questions for you before we continue with our work.

You have 32GB of RAM, is this two 16GB sticks or a single 32GB stick.

How old is the PSU **

Any more BSOD since you freed up the space on the C: partition.

Who put this computer together for you.

** EVGA make good PSUs but when there is anything more than even the most basic of add on GPUs included in the build the system needs the stability and protection of a minimum of a Gold efficiency rated PSU from a proven brand such as Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic, your system even more so due to the amount of storage devices present

Good morning!

Its a single 32gb stick. (Ive tried on both the single channel ram slot (1) and I tried it on the 2nd as well since 2 & 4 slots are marked "first." Had the same issues.

The PSU was purchased November 2019.

Yes, the games keep crashing to a BSOD after clearing up space.

A few instances there were no BSOD just errors crashing the games.

CybertronPC put this together but their motherboard had a lot of issues. I replaced that and the cheap power supply iy came with almost immediately.

Everything was working fine for about 10 months. Then an nvidia driver update came on 12/2 and that's when everything went to hell.

Just for clarity, are you saying that CybertronPC shipped you a computer with a single 32 GB stick of RAM, if they did it was both amateur and reckless

Ryzen CPUs are notorious for demanding fast RAM and as a consequence of you only having the one stick it can only run in single channel and atm only at 350MHz, this is 99% of the immediate problem with the other 1% being the below par Bronze efficiency rated PSU.

Memory
Type: Unknown
Size: 32718 MBytes
Channels #: Single
DRAM Frequency: 350.3 MHz
Being totally honest here, I have never seen such a low memory speed reading in all my years of working with computers, even running at 1500MHz you would still get problems but 350.3MHz is extraordinary.

Well their motherboard only had two ram slots the one I upgraded to has 4 but I see what you're saying. I think 2 16gb would be more stable or maybe now in my case 4 x 8gb?

It just gave me a BSOD playing call of duty right now after literally doing an entire reset of windows and removing all removable storage drives and accessories.

Doesn`t make any difference, two slots or four, using a single 32GB stick makes no sense whatsoever and it costs the customer in both the wallet and poor PC performance.

The crash was caused by a problem between Windows and Battle.net.exe which is a known memory management issue.

Funny how your RAM is all of a sudden reading at 1200MHz and being detected as the Team brand.

Until you have the appropriate RAM working in dual channel your are fighting a losing battle I'm afraid.

Makes much sense my friend.

I will be replacing the ram with 2x16gb 3200mhz and going to get a gold certified 750 watt psu just to be on the safe side. :giggle:

Will be replacing the GPU in January for the RTX 3060 if they are ever in stock again!

Thank you so much for all your help. It is really appreciated!

You are welcome and good luck with the future upgrades (y)

NB: Forgot to mention, checked your MBs user manual and if you have not seen it already it says that when using only one stick of RAM it should be inserted in DIMM slot A2 which is the second one away from the CPU.
