I don't even know if this is the right sub-forum to even post this, but whatever.
Basically I upgraded to windows 10 from 8 not that long ago and everything was OK. I installed everything I needed from apps to games and everything was OK, running as usual. From like January 6th from this year on I've been noticing some problems, like apps start to freeze and they all close down all of a sudden and then there's a blue screen following that and while they freeze you can't do anything. Even after the blue screen has passed, I still can't continue on with Windows and it's just stuck and I gotta shut it down with holding the power button a lot of times OR there's a log that says this and this file isn't working your device/pc needs to be repaired(similar to the blue screen). Even if it starts after a lot of shutdowns, still everything freezes and eventually blue screens after some time of using it. I've been actively downloading stuff that I need from like mediafire.com or upload.ee and sometimes something pops up, but I usually close them just a second after. It has come to a point where I had formatted the hard disks and pre-installed Windows all over again.

Basically today I did the format and Windows re-installation. I thought it was a software problem and the problems that I had googled said it's not bad to reinstall Windows again. So I did. Then after getting it all set up and pre-installed, I tried downloading some apps(Steam and Discord) and noticed the same freeze and it moved to a blue screen. Then I opened my laptop up and saw that my RAM's OK, but the hard disk had one unscrewed screw. I screwed it and I put it all back together and opened it up and it seemed(and really did) like my PC got faster loading rather than before. I made sure ALL the screws were tight and good. The laptop I'm using is Lenovo G510. Maybe this is all just from the using over the last years considering I got this like 5 years ago.

So basically I'm looking for a question whether this problem is hardware or software related. I haven't had any falls/drops like that to my laptop beforehand and I clean the dust every once in a while and it was good for everything, from gaming to anything else.
What are your thoughts? Any help or past experiences with this problem feel free to share it and help, I would appreciate it greatly.
If the thread isn't in the right place, let me know.

If you need any more information, I'll leave it.

Welcome to PCHF Branko,

So basically I'm looking for a question whether this problem is hardware or software related. I haven't had any falls/drops like that to my laptop beforehand
Best suggestion for you atm would be for you to continue using the notebook as you are and before reinstalling any app make a note of what it is, install it, restart and see how the computer behaves, it could be one particular app or program that you previously had installed that was causing the issue, reinstalling any apps or programs step by step will help you to identify any particular app or program if this is the case.

Couple of tips for you, as you have clean installed Windows I suggest that while the computer is running ok you create a new system restore point and make sure that crash dmps are enabled on the computer, we will need the latter should you get any future BSOD.

So you're saying the problem is software related with all the freezes and eventually BSOD?
I'll see if it's with the apps and I'll make a restore point.

I forgot to mention that wmic hard disk check said OK and the logs from the blue screen stated that the "system configuration has changed" in that context in the logs before I re-installed Windows. Virus checks from both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender came clean(one was deactivated at a time and soon Malwarebytes was deleted).

I'll uninstall the apps I installed again and I'll see if that will solve it.

No, not saying that, your Op says that since clean installing Windows you have not had any falls/drops like you did beforehand, if it was hardware related a clean install of Windows would change nothing and the problems would still be there, the fact that the computer works ok since you clean installed Windows makes it highly unlikely that the issue is hardware related but you cannot rule it out, a loose connection may work fine one minute but not the next.

What I actually said and if like you say in your OP the computer is running ok since you clean installed the guidance that you should follow is repeated below

OK. Thanks for the help.
If I got more problems I'll just make a new thread. Appreciate the help.

You are welcome but please do not create a new thread should the issue reoccur, do as was suggested above and if we don`t hear back from you before one of us will ask you for an update around Thursday, good luck meanwhile (y)

Are things still running ok Branko, would be nice if you could get back to us and let us know but if not we will mark your thread as solved.
