Hi all, I have an old hard drive which no longer has a power pack, so I’m looking for a replacement power pack in the UK.

I took it to a computer shop, and the guy tried various power packs but to no avail. The other issue is I don’t know what ampage the hard drive requires.

If I search on Amazon or eBay for “SSPAEF” then I get various results including this one:

Yultek 12V Power Supply Charger for Freecom Sspaef Sspaeg External Hard Drive https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IYOQADU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_bjvHAbC09890R

But none of them have reviews. Would one of these be ok do you think?

I would come at it from another angle.
replaced the hard drive caddy instead.
that will be about the same price as a new power pack anyway.
you just need to open that old one and determine if the drive is IDE or SATA.

Thanks, I think I’m the first instance I’ll contact that website and ask about compatibility, and see if I can get a power pack. I’ll keep the caddy option as a backup option as it’s a bit more technical!

Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated:)

I've sent photos to the seller and they've said that they will get back to me. Maybe best to close the thread? I'm confident that they'll be able to find something for me, and if not then hopefully I can find out online how to switch caddy.

Ok thanks for the update. I will close your thread but if you need to have this thread re-opened we can do that..
