Hello guys. I have a problem with an HP Envy x360 2 in 1 laptop. After some updates i can no loger use the tablet mode on the laptop. When i flip the screen, the laptop goes into tablet mode but touchscreen doesn't work. In device manager i have a foulty driver. I've tried everything i can think of: 3rd party driver update, drivers from hp and intel, drivers from web, updating bios, firmware, installing a fresh os, etc
I'm wondering if anyone else faced this problem and if there is a workaround. I can always send it to repair since is in warranty but first i thought i'd ask here and not wait a month for service.
Thank you all

Seems that windows 10 comes with this machine and HP does not officially support windows 11 so select like above.
Click the Blue Submit button.

Then use this tool offered by HP

If that fails then under:
Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices (9)
You will find:
  • Synaptics TouchPad Driver
  • 19.5.10.75 Rev.A
  • 24.1 MB
  • Nov 30, 2018
Download and install this. :)

Already did all drivers from hp site. Did it again anyway as you suggested, nothing changed
I bought the laptop around 1 month ago and it came with windows 11 not 10

The thing is, when i bought it, everything worked well. After some updates i have in device manager the Intel Quick SPI Host Controller defaulted with the error the device cannot start (Code 10) status device power failure. And i tried getting the driver from hp, intel, and a 3rd party driver updater. I updated bios (found a newer version), and even tried a fresh OS install. The driver is still foully.

Code:
Name: Intel(R) Quick SPI Host Controller - 51D0
Description: Intel(R) Quick SPI Host Controller - 51D0
Class Guid: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}
Manufacturer: (Standard system devices)
Service: IntelQuickSPI
Device ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_51D0&SUBSYS_8A28103C&REV_01\3&11583659&0&86
Problem: : This device cannot start. (Code10)
Resolution: Device failed to start. Click "Update Driver" to update the drivers for this device.
On the "General Properties" tab of the device, click "Troubleshoot" to start the troubleshooting wizard.

Hmm well I've been wrong before. lol Actually here is your machine.

You use the HP driver tool? Click Here Please.

Other than that. I have tagged some other people, hopefully one will come along soon. :)

What updates? Windows update? Assuming it was fine before these updates?

What method did you use?
I couldn't say exactlly what update because it's my wife's laptop and i noticed the problem after a while. The laptop is bought early november and it did a big update when configuring it and 1 small windows update after few days. Everything worked fine. The one i suspect is a big windows update around 2 weeks witch involved bios and firmware update, but i can't be sure since she didn't use tablet mode imediatlly after the update to see if it worked or not.
As for the fresh OS, i used my laptop to create a bootable media usb of the latest windows version.

All that i've done, i did it after hp support told me i could do it as to not void warranty. Hopefully i won't have any problems. I could always send it but i really didn't want to wait 1 month for service and (by my limited knowledge in theese things) i still think it's not a hardware problem that's why i was seeking help to see if there are any other solutions.
But you guys are the experts so i will do as advised

+1 on the idea that if you reloaded Windows, everything should be back to factory settings EXCEPT it sounds like you did a 'over the top' reinstall of Windows, even though you told it 'keep nothing'.

I have found the best "nuke it from space" method is to use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB stick, and change the boot order in BIOS to boot from USB first.
Using this method, one of the initial screens during the reinstall offers you the chance to delete all current partitions, doing that ensures the new Windows install is straight off the USB stick.

So last throw of the dice, try that.

And as a side note, never use any of those 3rd party driver update programs.
If Windows or the manufacture's website hasn't got your driver, don't trust any other source.
Looks like you used Driver Identifier, which Windows Defender threw up many warning it is a potentially unwanted program.
These programs are well known for malware, spreading crap, loading the wrong stuff, or generally just making things worse.
