  • Hello everyone We want to personally apologize to everyone for the downtime that we've experienced. We are working to get everything back up as quickly as possible. Due to the issues we've had, your password will need to be reset. Please click the button that says "Forgot Your Password" and change it. We are working to have things back to normal. Emails are fixed and should now send properly. Thank you all for your patience. Thanks, PCHF Management

I bought a pc from a friend and it worked perfectly fine until i tried to reset the pc and it will not reset. It will load into the lock screen but when i try to enter the pc itll say that the profile is not found and now i dont know what to do

Do you have a picture of the message?

Sounds like it could be a BIOS configuration issue, have you reset it to the optimized configuration?

I have a picture of it but it wont let me post it its just a blank blue screen that reads: The user profile service service failed to sign-in
User profile cannot be loaded:
I dont know much of bios but i could try that

Can you give us a model # for the computer if it is prebuilt and a specs list if it is custom?

cyberpowerpc model c series et8834-6562
Thats the tag on the back of the pc i dont know the cpu or anything and i cant access task manager to look at them

Unfortunately this only brings up information about a case/panel on my end, do you have access to the account/website you purchased the device from? That should give you a model or spec list.

who knows what the previous owner had on it.
why not wipe it and start from scratch?
get the Windows Media Creation Tool, use that to make a bootable USB stick, then boot the laptop using that stick.
the stick creation can be done on any PC.

Okay and thatll act like a brand new pc with a fresh startup?

Don't forget to install your drivers before connecting to the internet - a crucial but often missed step.

or to spin it another way - don't do the reinstall with the network connected.
pre-save all the drivers the mobo requires.

First things first.
You need to find the model of the motherboard so you can get the drivers needed for a reinstall.
Power off and remove the powercord.
Open the side of the case - normally 2 screws on the back and the side panel will slid off.
Have a look at the motherboard for a name and model.
This is needed so we can point you to the correct drivers.
If you have a look at this for an example it will show you how to find the name and model.
In this pic you can see it is a Gigabyte GA-G41M Motherboard.

Reinstall Win 10 Fresh Install

Download the win 10 tool run it to recreate the flash drive – Must be minimum 8GB

Watch this video
How To Install Windows 10 From USB - YouTube

In the video at 2:35 Where to install Windows. Highlight each partition and delete.

Then install on the unallocated space.

In the video at 2:54 you will notice it restarts the computer.
When you are doing this and you get to that point Remove the usb stick whilst it is restarting.
Also if you want to setup a local account instead of logging in with a Microsoft account
Turn off your wireless network and or remove the network cable.
This point is 3.32 in the video - Choose I don't have internet.
If you want to log in with a Microsoft account then leave the network as is.

Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need i.e. chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. Whilst Win10 has a lot of native drivers, Microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.
  • Chipset or Motherboard
  • Sata or hard drive
  • Video adapter
  • Network interface card (NIC)
  • Audio
  • Touchpad
  • Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.
Reboot after installing the drivers

How are you using the recovery option? Have you tried via the recovery menu? on the sign in screen click & hold Shift & then while continuing to hold Shift click on restart. Hold shift until in the recovery menu then choose troubleshoot.
