Hello,

I have been having issues with Microsoft 365 excel and word documents for almost a month... I create new documents and every now and then when I go to open one - an error saying "Excel (or Word) cannot open the file 'blahblah' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file." Once that occurs I loose that file...

So I ran a boot time scan with Avast and error code 42127 came up...

I've sought help elsewhere to no avail (and I told them to close the thread)... I was told to delete Avast and McAfee av programs because Windows Defender was good enough... I was also told to delete 365 and then re-dl it... I did that - it worked with no problems for about 3 days and then the problem started again... PLEASE HELP ME!! I'm at my wits end and am ready to do a factory reset to see if that fixes it...
