Hello,

Please excuse my ignorance but I'm not exactly an expert with this sort of stuff.

I'm trying to play games like Overwatch / Apex legends etc on my pc with the following specs:

W10, i5-7400, 8GBRAM, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I know that these specs are old, but I have all my games on minimum graphics settings and I still get a fair bit of 'lag' and frame drops especially when I'm actually engaging in a gunfight.

Is it simply the case that I need to upgrade? If so, what do I need to upgrade? CPU / Graphics card? both?

Or might there be another reason I am experiencing this? I can only really describe it as choppy gameplay, and textures not loading in well etc.

(My graphics card is fully up to date)

Thanks for your help and sorry again for my lack of knowledge

So others may assist
1. Please supply details (make and model) of your power supply (psu)

2. Please supply details of your pc with a Speccy report. See Here to download Speccy and provide report.

My PSU is 500W PSU Bronze Rated
Brand and model name or number please, the quality of some PSUs out there is so bad that you couldn`t trust them as a doorstop.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

I suggest that you change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, High Performance is a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

Windows is well out of date and while it is you are fighting a losing battle troubleshooting as any one of a number of the missing updates could be the answer to your problem, download and install Windows version 1909 and all the subsequent updates, if not the answer to the problem it will make your computer more secure than it is at present.

Physical Memory
Memory Usage: 46 % This is high for a computer that is not under any load, we can check this after your next update here.

Sorry for the belated response. I have attributed my issues to poor internet connection not hardware issues, so I no longer require assistance in this thread, thanks for your help !

No worries and thank you for taking time out to let us know that you no longer required assistance (y)
