I just put a new pc together a few weeks ago and out of the blue today it just restarted and when I checked event viewer distributedcom 10016 was the error.

I tried doing the fixes I found on google copying the CLSID number and going into registry edit but I am unable to change the permissions as it says, I get a denied error message.

My pc crashes and restarts every time I try to open a game.

I am running windows 10, I just did a fresh install of windows and the same errors happening.

Im on a ryzen 5 5600x, msi b450 gaming plus max motherboard, corsair vengeance LPX 16gb ddr4 3200mhz memory, rtx 3050 video card , thermaltake toughpower gx2 80+ gold 600w power supply

these are the messages I am getting.

I have no idea how this started happening, nothing new out of the blue installed or added to the pc, it has been running perfect since I put it together.
Also I am not sure if it is related to this issue but my main monitor will randomly start flashing on and off like 6-7 times and then be ok.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the time, DCOM errors won't affect your system, other than clogging up your Event Viewer.
DCOM errors are nothing to worry about.
I would be surprised if this is the cause. However stranger things do happen.

Can you Download and run and then post. https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The last part of each URL is randomized, so only people you provide with the URL will be able to find your profile.

The information given in Speccy cannot be used by anyone to hack your system

Could you also include the power supply specs E.g Cooler Master 850W Gold V2 NOT E.g 850w

Is there any way that this could be a weird video card driver bug? The only changes made to my pc in the past few days were the two nividia drivers they put out for diablo 4.

I also posted the speccy link but its awaiting approval.

Do you have system restore turned on?
1 Press the Win + R keys to open Run, type rstrui into Run, and click on OK to open System Restore.
Is there a restore point from before the update?

there is no restore point before the update. i just fresh installed windows yesterday also and the problems happened before and after the new windows install

Did you install the motherboard drivers after windows install and before connecting to the internet.
Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need i.e. chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. Whilst Win10 has a lot of native drivers, Microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.

  • Chipset or Motherboard
  • Sata or hard drive
  • Video adapter
  • Network interface card (NIC)
  • Audio
  • Touchpad
  • Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.
Reboot after installing the drivers

thanks so much for responding, i tried using ddu and did that earlier and it still crashed after i tried, my pc hasnt crashed in a few hours now. would those motherboard driver issues take almost a month to show up out of the blue or would that have been happening right away? i will download them and give it a shot and if it happened to be one of those driver issues would that have shown up in event viewer?, im just really afraid to try anything since my pc hasnt crashed, it makes me so sick to my stomach when it does, im afraid it will break something and i just bought this.

The drivers from Microsoft are just to get the pc running and on the net as they cannot have drivers for every MB that is made.
Was there a problem before you upgraded the driver for the graphics card?
would those motherboard driver issues take almost a month to show up out of the blue or would that have been happening right away
Did you buy this with Windows 10 already installed or did you originally install win 10.
They normally come with 10 installed and the MB drivers installed. or a disk with the drivers.
You then just have to finish off connecting and adding your name etc.
im just really afraid to try anything since my pc hasnt crashed
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

You should only update drivers if it is to fix a known problem.
You should never update the BIOS unless it is to fix a specific problem you are having.

im afraid it will break something and i just bought this.
That is a very good reason NOT to do this.
going into registry edit
You can really mess things up by doing this.
I suggest you ask here first before doing anything with the registry.

See how it performs before doing any changes.
If you think you need to make a change ask first and make a restore point first.
A system backup is even better than a restore point.

i bought windows 10 separately, its a legit copy, i used a new bootable usb from windows a couple days before i installed windows.

i can try reinstalling windows fresh again and then installing the mobo drivers before connected to the internet and try that.

the crashing started i think after the latest vid card update. started happening on weds

and also do you think this could be hardware related, just put the pc together about a month ago, or are we just going thru driver issues first?
i tested the cpu temp and vid card temp and stress tested vid card, everything was good. only thing i havent done is try one stick of ram at a time to see if it still crashes. thanks so much for your help, i really appreciate it

and also do you think this could be hardware related,
One step at a time.
Since you installed windows you really should try the MB drivers first.

You should have got a higher rated PS - Only my opinion. I am not a PS expert.
Your video card alone needs 550 W and you have 600w so should be ok but not much wiggle room.

Required System Power (W) (5)
550

i looked that up too today thinking i had a psu issue, it says the rtx 3050 only needs 115w of power, pcpartpicker also said my whole pc would need like 300w. when i looked this up it got really good reviews, my last psu was a thermaltake and lasted like 12 years so i thought they would be good.

i also wanted to ask do you think this could be a weird vid card driver bug since this started happening right after these drivers, i think they put out two drivers in a week.

should i just install the mobo drivers or would a fresh windows install and then drivers?
and if i fresh install would i do mobo drivers then restart then vid card drivers? or reverse that order or do them all at the same time?

maybe a fresh install would be best since i was in the registry just to be safe?

i really appreciate your help. i know its probably frustrating dealing with a dumb **** when it comes to pc troubleshooting. i have been extremely lucky up until now with not having any software/driver/hardware issues with any of my pcs.

i have the system & chipset drivers, onboard vga drivers, onboard audio drivers, lan drivers, i also got the onboard pide/sata drivers, all the ones they have listed, do i need this pide/sata driver too?

Yes

Post #9 shows the order to install the drivers.
If a reboot is needed it will tell you.
Reboot if it ask you to.
Then do the next and reboot if asked.
