Doh. Was trying to source ExchangeActiveSync (EAS) error by doing the usual..........shutting down services to determine which was the cause.
Was in and out of msconfig several times successfully but had a brain fart the last time in and failed to check the box "Hide microsoft services."

So now I can not get an internet connection. Can not get msconfig to work. Basically dead in the water. No luck in Safe Mode either.

Windows 10.

Have you tried Services via Task Manager to see if you could enable there?

What is the error message and how are you attempting to access.

Try an Admin Command Prompt and type
Msconfig

Thank you for the reply.
Disregard my comment about the EAS error......minor issue at the moment.
More importantly......
Upon booting up and signing in, desktop appears with taskbar.
Typing mscofig in search box just produces a blank white window with no apps listed, including msconfig exe.
Same thing occurs in Safe Mode.
Computer does not connect to the internet upon start either now. Can not get a connection working.

All was working fine until I accidentally forgot to check the "Hide all Microsoft Services" box and then clicked "apply." So basically I've shut down most all Windows and StartUp functions.

I suspect I'm going to have to use a boot disk. Just got a call from a tech friend who will be over shortly. Will let you know how he makes out. Maybe pause this until you hear back from me.

Stated nothing about search.

You may have to do a repair install. Or if windows backup was activated try rolling back the system to date before this was done.

Transfer this program to your machine, run it then reboot.

Download easy service optmizer, save it to your desktop and unzip it there. Right click it and run as admin, then select Tweaked at the bottom. Then click on the rocket, this will turn off a lot of useless items.

You will however need to change one setting. Right Click on Wlansvc — WLAN AutoConfig, then select start service, the edit service. Make sure it is automatic across the board, as per the picture.

Or try a system restore as suggested by Rusty

Turns out you were right Rustys..........we had to do a repair/install. All is good now.

Thank you all for responding to this thread. I always get such good help here. And thanks also for the ESO tip Malnutrition. I will look into it. You may close this thread. Cheers.
