Hi everyone,

I have a monitor (Dell P2416D) that goes black whenever I try to connect it to my laptop. It turns on and starts for a second, then immediately turns black.
This happened all of a sudden. Should I bother taking it to a repair shop, or is it dead?

Here is a video of what happens when I connect it to my computer.

Does this happen on the built-on screen?

If you tried a different monitor and or TV does this happen?
The laptop works fine on other monitors. I actually was using this monitor with the laptop fine for a few years, but all of a sudden it started to act like this regardless if the device it's connected to.

Yes, it's quite an old monitor but it did work great for all of those years.
I think I agree with you guys and I'll need to replace it.

Do you have any suggestions for a good replacement? I want a 28" one which I use mostly for work (I work in software development) but I occasionally use it for my Xbox.

The only suggestion is go with name brands.

Not the newest model that just came out I always do prior years model.
Seen users and personally had issues with the newest and greatest.
