Hello all
Picked up this Dell the other day and am unable to get sound out of my external speakers so I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and how to rectify it, I know the speakers work but just not when hooked up to this pc.
Also as a side issue the DVD Rom has power to it has it spins but the pc just doesn't recognise it, any suggestions?

Dell make, model, express service tag number would help.
does 'picked up' mean old, new, refurb'd?
from a retail store, bloke down the road, or fell off the back of a truck? :)
in other words, any warranty, what's the age and history?

Hi Bruce
It was a refurb purchased online, no warranty, it is a Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF i7 4770 CPU running windows 10.

what sort of speakers, USB or green 3.5mm jack?
if the later, have you tried both back and front audio ports?
have you gone into Device Manager and checked the audio drivers are installed?
go to the Dell website and download them for that unit, using the Express Service Tag.
then uninstall the current one, reboot, and install the new one.
