I use Radio communications at work to send data between base stations and outstations. We ave just been handed a totally new radio unit for use in the future. In the past we have used a serial port for the config of existing radios on our Windows 10 Laptops. These new devices also have to be configurated via an Etehrnet connection.

The isntruction book whilst being very detailed in every other aspect is very "vague" when it comes to connecting to or laptops. Apologies for my inadequate knowledge, and im assuming I connect the unit via an ethernet cable, and the software we use is called Terraterm but how do I "open an SSH session to IP address 192.168.1.2." , or even going back to basics how do I know the Laptop is connected to the radio unit correctly. Im assuming it will be in the Network & Internet settings.

Apologies if none of this makes any sense, but even the slightest information could set me on the right path....
