Here is my situation. I have a new Dell laptop running Windows 11. There is no ethernet port on the laptop. So I have an adapter that allows me to connect a RJ45 (ethernet) cable to the USB port on the laptop. The other end of the cable is plugged into my OBD port on my car. I have a program on the laptop that modifies the DME setting on my car. It should automatically connect to this program after I plug everything in and start the car. It doesn't. Anyone have any idea how to tell the laptop that the USB port is the ethernet connection?

I have used this program before (bootmod3) . I am using an OBD to ethernet cable I have used before with no problem. The adapter to connect this cable to the laptop is a "USB to gigabit ethernet adapter" made by Cable Matters.

I did notice a setting I hadn't seen before in settings. I click on "network and internet", then click on "advance network settings". I then click on "ethernet" and change disable to enable. Do you think I have to make this change?

BTW, thanks for your quick response.
