Hi

For a long time I've been experience some lagging and stutters with my computer while I was playing games.
I tried to resolve it in many ways but never figured out what the source was.

But one day, I decide to see if the problem was in my GPU (RTX 2080), and figured out that, while I was playing, my GPU had many spikes of low usage.
Since I knew this, I tried watching some videos on YouTube and even talked to NVIDIA about it, and they got me through some standards to try to resolve it, but it didn't.

I tried to replace the power strip I had since 2010 and was with a lot of dust, and for some minutes I really thought it was the source of all my issues, but it wasn't.

Then I benchmarked my Desktop with Benchmark, and it said my computer was underperforming in a 9th percentile, or something like that (Here are the results of my benchmark https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/65019771)

Now I have no idea of how to solve my problem, and I'm desperate for help…
It is very frustrating having a nice computer and not even be able to play my games in low…
 
If the computer is a desktop can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

You have a couple of problems going on but the most urgent is that PSU.

There is one thing that is possibly worse than using a known poor quality brand of PSU and that is using one that is unheard of, for brands of PSU to trust and brands to avoid please refer to the links in my sig.

Your GPU requires a minimum of a 650W Gold efficiency rated PSU from a proven brand such as the Corsair RM range or Seasonic, the present PSU is not even Bronze efficiency rated so should not be used anywhere near even an entry level GPU from years back.

Based on the additional drives you have a 750W minimum PSU should have been in use here.

However, I searched a bit more and my PSU is Cooler Master's and I thought it was 80 plus gold.

When I search the model on the internet, the site it gives me of Cooler Master is this https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/power-supplies/masterwatt-lite-230v/masterwatt-lite-230v-700w/

And do you think it would solve all the problems? Are the other components underperforming because the GPU is draining all the energy?

Do you think Cooler Master's PSUs are good?

Not a brand that I would ever use and the PSU that you have is so poor that it is rated as – Tier F • Replace immediately

Best thing that you can do is ask around to see if anyone you know has a PC with at least a 650W or above Gold efficiency rated PSU, if you are lucky enough to find such a PC have them test your GPU for you to make sure that the present PSU has not damaged it, the alternative is finding a local tech store that will do the test for you, some do it for free in the hope of making a sale but others charge a fee so please ensure that you ask first.

Are you basing what you are saying ion the crap above.

You have older tech and a CPU that can only handle 2666MHz RAM yet you are comparing it to a 13th gen CPU, 3200MHz RAM and an RTX 4060 GPU at that link.

Stability and best performance from the present hardware should be your aim here, we can provide you with a couple of test to check this.
 
Sorry I didn't understand what you ment.

But if you can give me some test to solve my problem I'd be so glad!

Do you think I should overclock my gpu?
 
Just to add some more information, I did overclock my GPU and it was performing at 100% while I was playing the game, but the moment I switched tabs, My CPU and GPU immediately dropped to 2% more or less, and the game crashed.

My question is if this overclock is not the best option and if I might be doing it wrong

You visited the forum but left no reply, have you used the recommended MSI OCing program, if yes, how has it worked out.

What do you mean by switched tabs and what game was involved.

Some games do not like users alt - tabbing and they will crash, one of the most notorious games known for this is League of Legends and there is no fix.

Hi! I'm sorry for leaving with no response.

I did use MSI Afterburner and it kinda worked. However, I wonder if I could have only done that and not bought the new PSU... What are your thoughts on this? Was the other PSU that bad that could permanently damage my components?

If not, I think I'll return this one and stay with the previous one,

P.S: I need your most honest opinion please!

I only do 100% honest and for you to even ask for my most honest opinion is an insult not just to me but to PCHF as well, feel free to put the previous junk PSU and run MSI Afterburner, it may not happen right away but you will at some point end up with a smoking heap of nothing in front of you, you call.
