Hi everyone

I bought an access point for my home network, but when I plug the network cable from my router (either using a POE plug in another room or directly from the router) there's no power lights showing. I've tried performing a reset and still no power. So, I decided to test it at the network at workplace and the using the network cable to POE and the power light is showing.

Does this access point need to be connected directly to a switch?

Yeh, but it works fine via POE at my work place network. I've used the same network cable at home too. Strange!

This may help others.

Are you plugging it into the wall socket and or surge suppressor/protector?

How are the cables routed?

Does the router recognize the device?

Have you tried connecting it directly to the modem?
