Are you asking size as in amount to use?
Usually about dime size what I use on a desktop in the center of the processor. I prefer the arctic thermal compound (paste) what ever they call it now.

I wouldn't re-use any pads, just not a good idea. You could take some measurements of your old pad and go from there and or just get the biggest one and cut to fit or like Rusty was suggesting, use some thermal paste.

What thermal pasę would you guy recommend? Furthermore, when looking at Isoprophyl alcohol are options aveliable between 70-99% would 70% be fine or do you recommend to get the purest one available?

Artic Silver 5 is the paste I use.
Any Isoprophyl alcohol is OK. Even Nail Polish remover.
It only has to clean the surface. (You are worrying too much)

I do not use the pads found they do not work as well for me as the thermal stuff does.
I would have used thermal pase on one chip itself. however i think i framed it wrong. I was just asking if I need to replace the pads around the chip. Like these which are pinkish colour/white colour around the chip.
