Changing an SSD on a HP model 17-ca1003ds. I'm just about to take it out and I'm reading the label and it has a pin number there printed on it.
Makes me suspicious, maybe I should ask why a pin number? And will an administrator password be lost? Or a local password?
Will someone please fill me in on all the information I need to know when doing this.
I've surfed around most information is about upgrading from SATA.
Appreciate any and all help.

I dont see a pin number anywhere on your picture. If you are referring to what says HP P/N L33592-001 then that is a HP part number.

Please no need to quote previous posts.

What specific information do you need? If you are replacing your system drive then do so and re install Windows.

All I'm doing is typing in the reply box, not choosing to quote.
I posted what I would like help with...?
Unplugging the ssd.
Are passwords lost, is there any vital information lost.

To remove the M.2 drive you have referred to undo the screw at the end of the drive card and pull the drive out of its slot.

If this drive is currently your system drive, as it almost certainly is, then yes removing that drive will remove ALL data including the operating system. Windows and your apps will have to be installed on your new drive.

Yes as all data is lost any passwords would be certainly included.

Can I ask why you are replacing the drive?
